Terms & Conditions for RateMe

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RateMe mobile application ("the App") and any related services provided by PDC Software AS, organization number 931 228 137 ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use RateMe.

We do not permit underage use and may use automated and manual measures to detect and remove underage accounts.

By using the App, you confirm that:

• you are at least 18 years old,
• you have the legal right to enter into these Terms, and
• you are not prohibited from using similar digital services in your country.

2. Your Account

To use the App, you must create an account with a valid phone number and/or email address. You are responsible for:

• maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials,
• all activity that occurs under your account, and
• ensuring the information you provide is accurate and up to date.

We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms or if your account activity poses a risk to other users or the platform.

3. Use of the Service

RateMe allows users to:

• upload profile photos,
• browse other users' photos,
• interact with profiles through in-app features,
• select preferences such as age range and general location categories,
• rate other users based on their profile photos.

Your name, age and personal details are not shown to other users.

You may not:

• use the App for illegal, harmful, or deceptive purposes
• impersonate another person
• attempt to scrape data or reverse engineer the App
• interfere with the App's operation
• create multiple accounts without permission
• use the App for harassment, bullying, or exploitation of others

4. User Content

You are responsible for all content you upload, including photos and text ("User Content").

By uploading User Content, you confirm that:

• you own it or have the legal right to use it,
• it does not infringe others' intellectual property rights,
• it does not contain minors, nudity, hate speech, threats, discrimination, or any prohibited content,
• it complies with these Terms and applicable laws.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, modify (for technical purposes), and distribute your content solely for operating the Service.

You may delete your content at any time.

5. Prohibited Content

The following are strictly prohibited:

• photos of anyone under 18
• pornographic, sexualized, or suggestive content
• hateful, abusive, or threatening content
• illegal content, drugs, weapons, or extremist symbols
• deepfakes, AI-generated likenesses of real people without consent
• stolen or manipulated photos
• content intended to harass, defame, or rate someone without permission

Violations may result in immediate account termination.

6. Our Rights to Moderate the Service

We may review, monitor, or remove content at any time, including:

• reported profiles
• content violating these Terms
• suspicious or harmful activity
• fake accounts or bots

We may also block or restrict your access without notice if:

• you violate these Terms
• your account poses a safety risk
• fraud or misuse is suspected
• required by law or regulation

We are not obligated to disclose the details of our review processes.

7. Subscriptions and Purchases

Some features may require payment or a subscription.

• Payments are processed through RevenueCat, Apple, or other approved processors.
• All purchases are final unless required otherwise by law.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your device's App Store settings.

We do not handle or store payment card details.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

All trademarks, logos, code, designs, and other materials in the App are owned by PDC Software AS or licensed to us.

You may not:

• copy, distribute, or modify the App or its content,
• use our brand assets without permission,
• extract, scrape, or replicate our data or algorithms.

9. Privacy

Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at: https://www.apprateme.com/privacy

By using the App, you agree that we may process your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App's account deletion feature.

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• you violate these Terms
• your behaviour threatens the safety of others
• you upload prohibited content
• you use the App in a fraudulent manner

Once terminated, you may lose access to all content and data associated with your account.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

We do not guarantee:

• uninterrupted or error-free service
• that user profiles are genuine
• that ratings or interactions are accurate, fair, or safe
• any specific outcome from using the App

Interactions with other users are your sole responsibility.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDC Software AS is not liable for:

• user misconduct or harmful interactions
• loss of data
• damages arising from reliance on ratings
• indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• issues caused by third-party providers or app stores

Our total liability is limited to the amount paid by you for the Service in the past 12 months (if any).

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway.

Any disputes shall be resolved by the Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett) unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally.

If we make significant changes, we will notify you in the App.

Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
